4:19 PMI want to write words that are heavier than paper. I want my words to hit you and I want you to want to hold onto them.
I want to take a photo and show you the thousand words it holds.
So this is for the girl we called "wizard child" and snapshots that look like they came out of a 1960's national geographic and the pool we never went to because there was so much more we hadn't seen and the sun that soaked us up instead and the golf cart marshall that wasn't fast enough to catch us and waking up in tangles and the invincibility we felt.
This is for the dozens of photos that have turned into hundreds pasted on my wall.
This is for the fear of losing those photos because instagram is just a fad anyways and in thirty years will I know the faces on that paper?
Those faces are everything I have, and a few have fallen behind but at long last I've come to realize that if I keep checking to see if they're still around I'll lose the ability to lock eyes with those still around me.
And what's the point of looking if you can't seem to lock eyes?
