words for bricks

3:43 PM

If bricks were minutes you'd have far too many of mine already,
and I'd be stealing yours whenever you turn away.

If bricks were prayers we'd each have a small city built up behind the bedroom door,
but only if you'll count the ones behind the steering wheel instead of on our knees.

If bricks were friends that used to be I'd really only have three,
because people tend to show up unannounced.

But if bricks were karma I'd like to be in charge of determining which bricks are thrown where.

If bricks were kisses maybe some would be nicer than others but

If bricks were bruises at least they'd each have a story.

If bricks were worth our time perhaps we'd put together something meaningful.

And then we could sit back and admire our handiwork, because we ought to be proud of building something lovely out of bricks.

  3. Top five. I have no words for this. This is so beautifully worded, but it is soo real and so honest. It's truth. So poetic. Nailed the prompt.
